American Brownies

Ingredients

250g butter
½ cup cocoa
1 ½ cups caster sugar
4 eggs
1 cup SR flour
1 tsp vanilla

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 oC. Line a lamington tin (or small baking dish) with baking paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl in the microwave.
  3. Mix in the cocoa and sugar, and stir until they are dissolved.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat well by hand.
  5. Fold in the flour.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. When cold, ice with butter frosting (or ready-made frosting).

Optional: Add 1 cup walnuts with the flour.
