Method
- Preheat the oven to 160 oC.
- Mix the dates, water, sugar, butter and bi-carb, and allow to stand until cool (1/2 to 1 hour).
- Mix the dry ingredients together.
- Combine the date mix with the flour mix and the egg, and fold together until combined.
- Line a loaf tin with baking paper, then pour the mixture in, leveling the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
