Dead Easy Lasagne

Meat Sauce

500g lean minced beef
1 onion
1 can tomato soup
1 tsp italian herbs
1 clove garlic, minced

 

Cheese Sauce

250g grated cheese
1 cup milk
1 tbs plain flour
salt & pepper to taste

1 pkt instant lasagne noodles
   (10 - 12 sheets)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 oC.
  2. Brown the mince and onion in a medium-sized saucepan.
  3. Add the herbs, garlic and tomato soup, and simmer for 10 min.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the cheese sauce.
  5. In a deep, 3L baking dish, arrange the lasagne as follows:
    • ¼ meat sauce
    • 4 lasagne sheets, overlapping
    • ¼ meat sauce
    • ¼ cheesy milk
    • 4 lasagne sheets, overlapping
    • ¼ meat sauce
    • ¼ cheesy milk
    • remaining lasagne sheets, overlapping
    • remaining meat sauce
    • remaining cheesy milk
  6. Bake for 1 hour, until bubbling and top is golden. Allow to stand 10 min before serving.

 

NB This dish is even better if prepared the day before and the uncooked pasta is allowed to soak up the cheesy sauce overnight. It will only need 1/2 hr baking.
