Method
- Preheat oven to 180oC. Grease a shallow 2L dish.
- Microwave the potato slices until barely cooked (3 to 5 min).
- Saute the onion in the butter.
- Remove from heat. Add the flour and mix until all the flour becomes crumbly.
- Add ¼ of the milk and stir until combined, then add remaining milk and stir.
- Arrange layers of potato, ham and cheese in the dish, finishing with cheese. Pour the sauce over the potatoes.
- Bake for ½ hour, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese has browned.
- Serve immediately.
